The non -profit Michal Sela Forum treats its website’s user with respect, the non-profit operates at the following website: www.michalsela.org.il and any other additional addresses according to the non-profits’ discretion (hereinafter “the website”). The purpose of the association: to prevent violence against women in their homes through technology and innovation.

This organization respects your privacy and invests in protecting your information. The purpose of this policy is to explain what personal information is being collected from you and about you withing the website, for what purposes we’ll use the information, how the information is shared with third parties, information about your rights and more. 

This site and its contents are intended to give information about the non-profit organization, projects and services including projects that promote life saving technologies, projects that protect threatened women (“the projects”), advocacy and information to identify warning signs in relationships and guidance for support centers in this field; to provide information about ways to contribute to the forum, vacancies and more (all of them together “service”).

In this policy, personal information as its definition in the Protection of Privacy Law includes information relating to an identified or identifiable person, for example: data about a person’s personality, their personal status, intimate details about their life, health condition, financial condition, professional training, one’s opinions and beliefs. 

Confirmation and consent. You are not obligated to provide us with personal information and any information you provide us with will be provided in accordance with your consent and willingness to receive this service. Using this website constitutes as a confirmation on your part that you read this privacy policy and terms of use, and you agree that this organization will use your personal information according to the terms of this policy and the following purposes. 

To the extent that you do not agree to this privacy policy, the terms of use or are not fully authorized to commit to the following we ask you please refrain from using this site or from providing personal information in any other way. We will occasionally update this policy to reflect new uses of your information or any new legal requirements. Using this website does mean that you agree to the terms of this current privacy policy. 

2. The type of personal information collected and how it is being collected. We receive or collect personal information from you in the following ways:

2.1 information the user provides as part of the website. Information provided to this organization on your part during your use of this website and collected by use, including:

  • When you leave your contact information to reach out or to receive information

  • When you apply for assistance or participation in one of our projects, and as part of registration and examining your suitability for participation in one of our projects. 

  • When you sign up for our newsletter or mailing list. You can register and receive mailing on various topics. For this purpose you need to provide information, such as your name, email address and phone number. In accordance with the law you can exit the mailing list and/or request your removal from it by sending a request for your removal to the following email address: info@michalsela.org.il or by pressing the “unsubscribe” button that appears on our mailings themselves. 

  • When you apply for a job, to volunteer for the organization and develop its services. 

  • When you choose to donate to this organization or contact us on this issue 

  • Log files- the organization may use log files. The information within the log files includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type. Internet Service Provider (ISP), time/date stamps, referral/exit pages, clicked pages and any other information one’s browser may send to us. 

  • Cookies and other tracking technologies. Our services may include the use of “cookies”, anonymous identifiers and other tracking technologies so that we can provide them and present you with information and marketing content that is personalized for you. A “cookie” file is a small text file that can be used, for example to collect information about activity on services such as your order history and any preferences on this website. Certain cookie files and other technologies may be used to retrieve personal information, including IP address, that was previously specified by a user. Most browsers do allow you to control your cookies, including whether to accept them or nor and how to remove them. Using the aforementioned tools and similar ones, we may adjust publications on various websites and social networks. etc. 

  • Information analysis tools, internet technology and other analytics tools. The website may use a tool called “Google Analytics” in order to collect information about the use of the site. Google Analytics collects information like the frequency of user visits and which websites a user visits before entering our website. We do not combine the information collected as part of using Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. 2.2 information you provide us, also outside of our website: 

  • Correspondence and conversations with the organization. The organization will save correspondence between you and it and any other information that is collected as part of correspondence with the organization's representative and other parties accompanying it, including through the ‘WhatsApp’ app, Facebook, email and any other platform to handle your request and/or to manage the service and assist with requests, we will make internal records, and at times will record and document conversations and any communications you have with the organization’s representative. 

  • Transferring a donation to the organization both in many and other equivalents. There are several ways in which you can contribute to the organization and participate in its activities, such as: money donations, through ‘Bit’ and/or ‘Paybox’ applications, a donation through Direct debit, purchases on “sales” on various trading sites and more. The organization will keep correspondence between you and it and any other information collected as part correspondence with the organization’s representative, on any platform. 

  • Registration and/or participation in Hackathons, meetings, activities or programs operated by the organization and/or brainstorming different ideas. When you sign up or participate in one of the following, we will save the information you provided us with. 

Among others, these details may include your full name, residential address, email address and phone number as well as details about the event(s) that happened if you choose to share them with us. 
 

3. We will use personal information collected by us as  detailed and described above for the following purposes:

3.1. First and foremost, we will use the information to examine the possibility of providing you with the service for which you provided the information, including assistance and maintaining your safety. 

3.2 Handling inquiries and referrals to support centers and professional parties accompanying the organization. 

3.3 To improve and maintain this site and the organization’s services in accordance with its goals and objectives.

3.4 for the purpose of responding to inquiries and requests including submitted applications for jobs, inquiries regarding donations and taking part in technological ventures and projects offered by our website as part of our organization’s activity. 

3.5 for the purpose of securing information on this website and complying with the law’s provisions. 

3.6 for the purpose of characterization, research, publication and adjusting content on our website and other various platforms. 

3.7 for the purpose of our legal defense in any legal proceedings

3.8 mailing and sending messages regarding our services and any related matters.
 

4. Sharing information. We will not transfer information you give us to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

4.1 in accordance with the law 

4.2 according to your consent or in the case that this involves the provision of the service, for example in the case of the transfer of the information you provide to parties involved in the projects you choose to apply to 

4.3 to our suppliers and partners who assist us in providing services, building, operating, publishing them and conducting accompanying studies, etc. For example, as part of the “Michal Sela Canines” project we collaborate with professionals’ bodies that train watch dogs, the Ministry of National Security, an external research company, advertising companies, insurance companies, legal advisors and more. In general, the organization works as a permanent way to find innovative and effective solutions to prevent domestic violence and to that end cooperates with various parties who are exposed to information on a limited scope and subject to a confidentiality agreement. 

4.4 suppliers who assist with operating this website, its security and its technological aspects. Some providers may be located outside the State of Israel and in other jurisdictions, including the US (for instance, cloud storage servers). 

4.5 We may disclose your personal information or any other information you submit through the Services if we believe in good faith that disclosure of such information is useful or necessary to: (a) obey existing laws. (b) insofar as this is required to save life or to prevent crime; (c) insofar as this is required due to suspicion that an offense has been committed against a minor or helpless person by the hand of the responsible for them; (d) enforce our terms; (e) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud or security issues; (f) protect against harm to the organization’s rights, our users, yours or the public- with a hefty emphasis on women who are at risk; (g) as far as is required due to a dispute, claim, demand and/or legal proceedings. 
 

5. Information security. The organization implements state-of-the-art information security systems and procedures on our website.
